YesterdayJune 18th, 2008, I came to the Southern part of Tanzania, Mafinga, to visit our kids. I have to see how they are faring during their school vacation. I am very grateful for the financial aid that we received and with this we will be able to cater for thier basic needs in preparation for the coming semester which will begin in early July. I met a few of the kids today and tomorrow I hope to meet a few others. I will be posting some of the pictures I will be able to take when I get back to Dar es Salaam on Tuesday.
The weather in the South is very cold. During the day it comes down to 12 degrees celcius amd at night below that temperature. Soon it may get colder. This area is called The Southern Highlands of Tanzania. It has the biggest man made forest in Tanzania and the whole of South of Sahara Desert Region. According to the recent statistics, it is the most HIV/AIDS affected area in the whole of Tanzania.
